What is the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival?
The Heart of America Festival is more than professional summer performance of a beloved Shakespeare play. We are educational programs, partnership performances with other arts organizations in the Kansas City area, and of course, the summer outdoor performance.
How can I purchase tickets for the performances?
General admission tickets are free. Seating is first-come, first-served. We do have premium reserved seating and blanket spaces available for a fee. We will provide a link to purchase Premium Reserved spots prior to the production in Southmoreland Park.
Is the festival suitable for children?
Children of all ages are welcome at the Festival. If you are not familiar with the play, we recommend reviewing a synopsis online when planning your visit to aid in your decision whether this story is appropriate for your child(ren).
How can I get involved with the festival?
You can get involved with the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival by volunteering at the festival or signing up for our internship program. At key times of the year we hold our auditions.
